| DISC Libraries Selected by Bell & Howell Imaging for Integration into Computer Data Centers |

(October 4, 2000) Milpitas, CA - DISC, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCSR), today announced an agreement with Bell & Howell Imaging (NYSE: BHW), a leading provider of information solutions and services to industries worldwide. Through the relationship, Bell & Howell Imaging will OEM DISC's DVC Series CD-ROM libraries. These libraries will be marketed to their existing client base of banks, insurance companies and government agencies. The storage units will initially be sold as stand-alone solutions and are expected to be integrated into Bell & Howell's highly acclaimed image capture and image systems offering in 2001. Since its inception in 1998, Bell & Howell's imaging business has experienced a rapid growth rate, making the company a forerunner in complex and digital imaging conversions. Through the relationship with DISC, Bell & Howell will begin integrating the DVC Series libraries to provide customers with high-performance, fully customized solutions. Under the agreement, Bell & Howell will also provide on-site service and technical support for the libraries it delivers. DISC's DVC Series combine fast read and write access with optimum media handling to provide solutions for a wide range of data capacity requirements. Each model can be configured to provide the optimum balance between capacity, function, performance and cost and can be easily integrated into common network environments. The DVC Series features 100, 300, 400 and 600 disc units. DVC libraries hold from one to 14 CD-ROM drives and can be configured with both CD-ROM and CD-Recordable drives. Capacities for the DVC Series range from 49 GBs to 393 GBs. The modular design of the DVC Series allows users to upgrade of exchange drives for improved technologies.
